This was a dive into documentary filmmaking for the first time, where I used a crew other than myself. After 5+ years focussing solely on the pursuit of opera, I returned after a summer in Germany singing in a production of Mozart’s “Die Zauberflöte” to find myself on a new journey with songwriting. I teamed up with my friend, Sam Pater, and we filmed over several months where I attempted to find clarity in my identity as a musician by transitioning out of a classical style of singing and into a singer-songwriter style, collaborations with various peers in my music conservatory and searching for the perfect vocalists to support the recording of my debut EP—filmed in the small, prairie city of Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada.
